When I heard Mike Kelly’s comparison of an enemy attack to the differential cost of contraceptives all I could think about was my father in law who was a decorated combat veteran of World War II serving with the 4th Marine Division. The 4th received two Presidential Citations for their valor. Kelly must apologize to all Veterans, to Women, to families impacted by the terrorist attack on 9-11 and frankly to all American people for his misguided statements.
“I know in your mind you can think of times when America was attacked. One is December 7th, that’s Pearl Harbor day. The other is September 11th, and that’s the day of the terrorist attack,” Kelly said at a press conference on Capitol Hill. “I want you to remember August the 1st, 2012, the attack on our religious freedom. Meanwhile, Hawaii senator Daniel Inouye started his statement by saying he personally witnessed the attacks on Pearl Harbor and called Kelly’s remarks “misguided,” “insulting,” and “complete nonsense.” Article by Josh Feldman
